Privacy policy
Effective October 23, 2026
This policy explains what information Shor Consulting, Inc. ("Shor Consulting", "we", "us"), which operates Sendproof, collects through the Sendproof website at sendproof.dev, the Sendproof application at app.sendproof.dev, and Sendproof's text messages and emails, and how we use and protect it.
Information we collect
From our customers
- Account information: the names and email addresses of the people on a customer's team, used to sign them in and contact them about their account.
- Test recipients: phone numbers and email addresses that a customer adds as test recipients. These belong to the customer's own staff or testers, who have agreed to receive test messages.
- Captured messages: the content of the emails, texts and notifications a customer's app sends while Sendproof is on, with details of what triggered them. When a message was meant for one of the customer's real users, Sendproof stores that person's address only masked (for example, "ending in 0100") and as a one-way hash. In Observe mode, message variables such as names and codes are removed before storage, and copies are deleted after 7 days unless the customer sets a different period.
- Proof from test phones: when a tester uses the Sendproof companion app, the notifications that match an expected test message, and screenshots the tester chooses to share.
From people who receive our texts
Your mobile number, the texts we send you and your replies (such as STOP, START or HELP), with the time of each.
From website visitors
Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, which our hosting and security providers record to keep the service running and secure. The public website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Signing in to the application uses a session cookie.
How we use information
- To provide Sendproof: capturing, checking and delivering test messages, and showing results to the customer's team.
- To send test recipients the notices the service requires: a one-time notice that their number or address is being used for testing, and confirmations when they opt out or back in.
- To tell a customer's contact when one of their test recipients opts out or back in.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Text messages
Sendproof texts a phone number only after a customer has added it as a test number, which the customer confirms the person has agreed to. The first text is a notice that the number is being used for testing. After that, the number receives the customer's test messages. Message frequency varies with testing activity. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to stop all Sendproof texts to your number. We'll send one confirmation and no further texts. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. You can also email [email protected]. See the text messaging section of our terms of service.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers that run Sendproof for us, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service:
- Hosting and network security (Hetzner Online, Cloudflare)
- Email delivery (Resend) and text message delivery (Telnyx)
- AI review of captured messages, when a customer turns it on (Anthropic)
A customer's captured messages and test results are visible to that customer's team. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others. If Sendproof is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
Retention
We keep captured messages for the period of the customer's plan (7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, or as agreed), and account information while the account is open. Opt-out records are kept so that we continue to honour them. A customer can delete a test recipient or a project at any time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. The application is reachable only after sign-in, real recipients are masked and hashed, and access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. If you are a test recipient, you can also ask the customer who added you. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We will not treat you differently for using them.
Children
Sendproof is a business service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page with a new effective date, and tell customers by email about significant ones.
